North Korea Arrests People by Recording External Calls

“Recently, the inspectors have been selecting a specific area and recording phone calls when signal waves are detected. Subsequently, the local leaders of the people’s party and the security forces are called to hear the voice of the calls and confirm their identity. Then the control team goes to the identified person’s house, plays the recording, and then arrests them.” This was reported by Daily NK. In the past, North Korea, which used to track callers through the location of the phone call, is now tracking down on callers with recorded phone calls, which is definite proof. We pray that the tapping of North Korea’s telephones will not cause any leaks in the ministry’s confidentiality or cause any obstacles to missions.

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men…” (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)

Lord, we lift up to you North Korean missionaries and local ministers in the midst of the situation in which the interception and the tapping of the phone calls of North Koreans are being strengthened. Please rescue them from the intense suppression. May the work of sending Your word, cultivating leaders with it, and planting the church not be hindered, but rather may Your word be widespread, and may You be glorified.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
